One way to get the kids on board is to continue some of the rituals shared with your child before you remarried. Why? Remarriage means change and often upheaval; if the kids can feel some things can stay the same, like their routine of hiking, going out to lunch, or watching “Ally McBeal” alone with you, they may be more receptive about trying something new.
