No LD50 of standard St. John’s wort extract was identified in studies of mice, rats, and dogs treated for 26 weeks, even at dosages of 5,000 mg/kg [Schulz et al., 1998, p56]. Intolerance reactions appeared at 900 mg/kg/day. No genotoxic or mutagenic effects were noted in these studies.

Another method for prescribing and monitoring exercise intensity involves using ratings of perceived exertion (RPE). Perceived exertion refers to the physical strain individuals believe they are experiencing while exercising. Perceived exertion feedback is important because it provides a practical means for individuals to become sensitive to what constitutes appropriate exercise intensity. During exercise, perception of effort is influenced by a variety of cues — some local in nature (e.g., sensations of muscular discomfort or strain) and some central in nature (e.g., heart rate, breathing rate, etc.). Bikes Draw New Members

Well, Akron General LifeStyles Health & Fitness Center put a new twist on an old promotion to increase sales during a typically slow time of year.
